7 Spooky Spots to Spend Halloween

Whether it’s finding your favorite fall haunt or an actual haunted house, we’ve got you covered. Check out our list of the top 7 spooky spots to spend Halloween—trust us, they’re a scream!

1. Savannah, Georgia

Savannah bills itself as one of the most haunted cities in America. Between the bloody battles, the murder at Mercer House and the deadly yellow fever epidemic in the 17th century, there is plenty of history in this riverside city that’ll give you the heebie jeebies. Go on a haunted pub crawl, take a scenic ghost tour by hearse or stroll through Bonaventure Cemetery.

2. Quebec City, Quebec

Canada isn’t all breathtaking vistas and maple syrup. Take a step into Quebec’s dark past of former battlegrounds and haunted hotels. Venture into tunnels near the Battle of the Plains of Abraham site, where some say the smell of gunpowder and sound of cannon shots linger in the air. Stop to photograph one of the world’s most Instagrammed hotels, the Fairmont Le Chateu Frontenac, and see if you can capture a spirit or two.

Home to the infamous witch trials of the 1600s, Salem has become synonymous with all things bewitching, especially in October. Halloween takes over the whole month: there are haunted houses, harbor and trolley tours, and the Official Salem Witches’ Ball, as well as a large party on Halloween night. 4. The Great Wall of China

One of the most well-known historic sites in the world, the Great Wall of China is also the final resting place of more than 2 million workers who lost their lives building the wall. Some have heard footsteps or marching or have experienced sudden nausea and headaches while visiting. Is this the altitude or otherworldly? We’ll let you decide.
