With new travel restrictions to Cuba taking effect, Virgin Voyages has adjusted its itineraries. Ports include The Beach Club at Bimini, Puerto Plata, Costa Maya, Cozumel-Play del Carmen, Key West and San Juan.

Update: February 15 at 10 AM ET

New Sailing! On July 15, 2020, sail aboard Richard Branson’s Birthday Bash. Prepare for an extra extravagant sail in honor of Richard Branson’s 70th birthday. Set sail from vibrant Miami to Cuba’s capital and celebrate Richard’s birthday—complete with see-through water and snow-white beaches. Arriving at 9:30 a.m. in Havana and leaving the next day, you’ll have plenty of time to bike the unexplored streets and savor a mojito at the local bars after the sun sets.

New Port!  The Beach Club Since Virgin has its own private beach club in Bimini, Bahamas, they would be crazy not to utilize it. But the only way in is on the Scarlet Lady. See-through water and sandy white shores punctuate this geographically poetic port. And like any good haiku, it’s cloaked in seductive mystery. Besides having access to the island’s incredible biodiversity in marine life, boating, snorkeling and historic shipwreck diving, Sailors get exclusive access to The Beach Club—Virgin Voyages’ very own private beach. Peaceful mornings and restorative days or amplified afternoons at the DJ-led pool party—this club is designed to answer whatever your specific mood is calling for. But regardless of your energy level, the bonfire finale will be nearly impossible to pass on!

The Overview

Virgin’s ships will be 2,800 passengers, reserved for guests aged 18 and over, with no children allowed. The start-up brand is referring to its guests as “Sailors.”

“From dining and entertainment to wellness and rejuvenation, nearly every single element of the Virgin Voyages journey will bring a unique Virgin style to the high seas–and not just for our 2,800 Sailors, but also for the 1,150 crew members who will reside there and make amazing happen,” said Virgin, in a statement.

The Onboard Venues

For the ship’s public spaces, the clever designs start with The Athletic Club (shown above). The Club features a raised jogging track that seems to float above the ship, in an eye-catching shade of Virgin’s signature red.

A refreshing catamaran-inspired net can also be found here, allowing you to lounge above it all. Its the perfect cross section of athletic meets relaxation meets socializing, according to Virgin.

Next, get ready for Virgin’s unique dining experiences! All restaurants will be included in your cruise fare, including Razzle Dazzle, named one of the Scarlet Lady’s “most spectacular culinary attractions.”

Razzle Dazzle will host a Drag Brunch, an exciting take on one of the most popular daytime activities. According to Virgin: “For two days on every voyage, our dashing, delightful, beautiful, sassy, scandalous, and scintillatingly spectacular drag queens will take over this space to provide some entertainment even Sin City wouldn’t know what to do with.” Wow!

Other venues include the Wake restaurant, Test Kitchen (pictured above), The Pizza Place and more. Guests will be able to choose from 20 dining options, of which some will be open 24 hours per day.

“All of our food will be made to order. In doing this, we’re cutting back on waste, drastically lowering our energy usage and emissions, and setting up the Scarlet Lady to be the future of sustainable sea travel,” Virgin said.

The Details: Inclusions and Pricing

Spectacular dining is not all that’s included in your cruise fare. Virgin Voyages is including gratuities and unlimited Wi-Fi, in addition to all fitness classes.

The voyages are also being sold on price by stateroom, as opposed to by guest, although pricing does adjust per the number of occupants per room.

Sample five-night cruises, not including port taxes or additional fees, come to approximately $250 per person per day.

Deployment includes four- and five-night cruises to the Caribbean. Four and five-night Havana After Dark itineraries will feature an overnight stay in Havana, Cuba. There are also five-night Mayan Sol voyages to Costa Maya, Mexico and five-night Dominican Daze voyages to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Itineraries will feature extended hours in port with an overnight or a late-night debarkation on all voyages. Additional port calls are expected to be added into each itinerary and announced this month.

Pre-sale reservations are open, in which a $500 deposit will guarantee a spot on the list for a stateroom in 2020. When you book with Online Vacation Center, you’ll receive a free $200 onboard spending credit per stateroom, as well as unmatched personalized service from your dedicated Personal Vacation Manager.
